On 5 October 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated that Covid-19 can be spread through airborne particles that can linger in the air “for minutes or even hours” — even among people who are more than 6 feet apart. COVID-19 also spreads through contact with contaminated surfaces.   Infection could be spread by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching our own mouth, nose, or eyes.  Surfaces contamination (extracted from WEBMD) listed how long Covid-19 can survive on various surfaces.

Glass   (drinking glasses, measuring cups, mirrors,
windows, shelves)    Up to 5 days
Ceramics  (dishes, pottery, mugs, decorative)   5 days
